Government officials Wednesday categorically denied a report in a Kuwaiti newspaper that the Olmert administration wants to change the Camp David agreements in order to allow Egyptian soldiers to bear heavy arms to patrol the border with Israel.
Official also denied that Amos Gilad, a senior Defense Ministry official, was in Egypt this week for discussions, Voice of Israel government radio reported. They said Gilad has spoken with Egyptian officials by telephone concerning arrangements at the border.
