Rain, Hail, Winds Causing Damage, Injuries

Gale force winds, wind and hail have reached Be'er Sheva and the northern Negev and have caused injuries and damage in several places throughout the country. High winds broke a branch that fell on the head of a passerby in Be'er Sheva, and she is being treated in Soroka Hospital. In the north, trees fell on at least one house and a car, causing light to moderate injuries and heavy damage. Flights at the Rosh Pina airport have been cancelled.

Streets in Akko are flooded, causing interruptions in traffic, and more than one inch of rain already has fallen in the western Galilee. The Hermon ski site has been closed to visitors because of a blinding snowstorm, and the snow is expected to reach the northern Golan Heights and the Galilee in the afternoon and Jerusalem at night.
