      Heavy Rains To Raise Kinneret

Heavy rains now are falling in the Galilee, and Agriculture Ministry forecasters expect that up to five inches will fall before the storm weakens on Thursday. Two to three inches of rain are expected to fall in the area of Kinneret, and run-off from mountain streams will add several centimeters to the reservoir, which is at a dangerously low level. Nearly two inches of rain are expected to fall in Be'er Sheva, and light rain also will reach the Arava.

Snow is expected to fall in the north in the afternoon and will reach Jerusalem, Gush Etzion and southern hilly areas at night, with accumulations beginning towards morning. The snow will stop on Thursday. It will be dry early next week, but another storm system may bring more rain, and possibly snow, in mid-week.
