Four Sentenced for Funding Hamas Reported: 22:30 PM - Jan/28/08
(IsraelNN.com) Four Arab men have been sentenced to between 13 months and 2.5 years in prison for transferring funds to Hamas. The four—Mohammed Farah, Mohammed Kasrawi, Afif Abdin, and Ahmed Kurd—were part of the “Charity fund in A-Ram and Dahyat el-Barid.” The group collected money from Islamic “charities” in Europe and elsewhere and transferred it to Hamas terrorists. The group was declared illegal in 2002, but the men continued in their activities. The four men transferred approximately seven million shekels to Hamas from 1999 to 2007. While some of the money was used to support needy families, prosecutors said, the money was given by Hamas in order to buy political support, and was not a genuine charitable contribution.
