Kremlin Opposition Presidential Candidate Nixed

Mikhail Kasyanov, Kremlin opposition candidate for president, was barred Sunday from running in Russia’s presidential election on March 2 to succeed President Vladimir Putin.
Kasyanov was declared ineligible by the Election Commission to run due to irregularities in his campaign, including a number of forged signatures on petitions used to register as a candidate.
