Minister of National Infrastructures Binyamin Ben-Eliezer plans to announce at the weekly Sunday morning cabinet meeting a proposal to amend the Natural Gas Law to allow Israel to purchase natural gas from British Gas.

The law currently bans the government from selling natural gas to end users. Ben-Eliezer is hoping to purchase gas from BG’s reserves offshore from Gaza for retail marketing purposes.
