The Israeli communities along the Israeli-Egyptian border have been put on alert following the demolition of the border fence between Gaza and Egypt, following an estimate by security officers that the new situation puts them in greater risk of terror attacks from the Sinai Peninsula.

Voice of Israel government radio said soldiers have been put in place to guard the communities following the Gaza events.
