Fifty IDF Reserve Officers Call on Olmert To Quit

(IsraelNN.com) Fifty Reserve commanders sent Prime Minister Ehud Olmert a letter calling on him to resign because of failures in the Second Lebanon War. They charged the Prime Minister with refusing "to accept standards of personal responsibility." Channel 2 television showed the letter on its newscast Monday night.

The company commanders said they will continue to serve in the IDF and will follow orders. The letter was sent less than two weeks before the Winograd Committee is to issue its final report on the role of the government and military establishment in the war. The report is expected to be harsh but without holding the Prime Minister personally responsible for failures in the retaliation against the Hizbullah terrorist army.
