The Israel Land Administration (ILA) and the Zichron Yaakov Local Council have begun construction of a 150-acre Wine Park on the southeastern slopes of Zichron Yaakov, in an attempt to draw tourists to Israel's bountiful wine country. The project combines tourism and recreation surrounding the Carmel Winery, Binyamina Wines, Tishbi Estate Winery, and numerous boutique wineries in the area.
Each business participant at the Wine Park will meld winery functions with restaurants, cafes, and bed-and-breakfasts. The park's green center will be surrounded by model vineyards. Another agricultural tourism location is in the works in Binyamina.
The Tishbi winery is now constructing a new center for visitors at a cost of $1 million, which will include a professional wine tasting center, genuine brandy distillery, restaurant and a bakery, and hopes to thereby double its yearly number of visitors.
