A crisis is brewing between Israel and the Ukraine over limits set on how many flights travel between the two countries.
Israel has requested an increase in traffic on the Tel Aviv-Kiev to permit Breslov Chassidim to reach the gravesite of Rebbe Nachman, their late leader, in Uman. Breslov Chassidim travel in the thousands to celebrate certain holidays at the gravesite.
It was decided in a ministry meeting with Transportation Ministry director-general Gideon Sitterman to demand new talks with the Ukraine government over the issue. A ministry spokesman denied reports of a crisis.
