More people are hurt when they run for cover during a Kassam rocket attack than from the shrapnel, Dr. Ron Lobel, Deputy Director of Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon, said Thursday. Lobel told Haaretz that the time in which the "Color Red" warning is broadcast is one of existential fear.

Lobel said that in his opinion, residents of Ashkelon would be better off without the "Color Red" system for now. "The danger in making the 'Color Red' system operational," he said, "is that every rocket fired from Gaza will turn on the alarm and send residents into great disquiet."
