A 50-year-old homeless man found dead on the street in Rishon Lezion Thursday morning probably died of the cold, said Magen David Adom paramedic Yaniv Shahar, who was called to the scene.

A police spokesman confirmed that the man apparently froze to death.  Two other homeless people and an 8-year-old Bedouin girl also froze to death in the past two days, with two others hospitalized in serious condition.

Hypothermia occurs when the body falls below 36 degrees Centigrade, or 97 degrees Farenheit.
