American President George W. Bush spent less than four hours visiting Egypt during his recent Middle East tour and stayed away from population centers because of fears of terrorist attacks, the Jordan Times reported. After having visited Saudi Arabia, he confined his visit to the red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh before departing for Washington.
"The brevity of the visit and the choice of venue, hundreds of kilometers from large population centers, suggested that the United States and Egyptian governments are wary of putting Bush into contact with many ordinary Egyptians," the newspaper stated.
