Derech Eretz, the operator of the Highway 6 (Kvish) high-speed thoroughfare, will pay the government revenues for the first time since the highway opened four years ago, Globes reported. The payment of 14 million shekels ($3.8 million) comes after the government compensated Derech Eretz 100 million shekels ($27 million) following lower than expected usage of the toll road. The agreement with the government has left Derech Eretz with a "no-lose" arrangement.
Travel on the highway last year reached projected levels, allowing Derech Eretz to pay the government a dividend on its profit, part of which was made following an 18 percent hike in toll fees last year.
