Nearly 60 headstones at a Chicago Jewish cemetery were spray-painted with anti-Semitic graffiti, including slogans such as "Aryan Power" and "Juden raus" (German for "Jews out") and a Star of David hanging from a gallows. About 46,000 people are buried at the Westlawn Cemetery in northwestern Chicago, where the vandalism occurred on January 6. The cost of cleaning up the damage is estimated at $100,000.
Local law enforcement is calling the vandalism a hate crime.
