Israeli Doctors Save Life in JFK Airport (IsraelNN.com) Two Israelis who traveled to the United States to return a wounded patient to Israel saved a man’s life while waiting in line in New York City’s JFK airport. As Dr. Reuven Bromiker and ER nurse Julie Benbenishti waited to go through passport control, they heard cries for a doctor. An American Jew who had been on their flight from Israel had suffered a heart attack and collapsed with no pulse. The two raced to the patient and began resuscitation and defibrillation, using the medical equipment they had brought with them to the US. The man’s pulse restarted and he regained consciousness after several minutes to the cheers of fellow travelers. “We were lucky to have all of our medical equipment with us,” Dr. Bromiker said. “The defibrillation is ultimately what saved the patient.”
