The Histadrut has announced that hospital staff in a number of government-run hospitals may choose to strike next week. The staff could choose to take sanctions, or could commit to a full strike and perform only lifesaving procedures.
Hospital workers argue that the government has failed to increase the workforce as Israel’s population increases. Workers said they would take gradual measures to pressure the government if they did not reach an agreement in the near future.
The hospitals that could be affected are the Nahariya hospital, Hillel Yafe, Rambam, Barzilai, Sheba, Rivka Ziv, Wolfson, and Asaf HaRofeh.
