US President George W. Bush has bowed to pressure and will meet with Opposition Leader Binyamin Netanyahu during his visit to Israel. US Ambassador Richard Jones called Netanyahu early Wednesday to schedule the meeting, which is scheduled to take place Thursday morning at Jerusalem's King David Hotel.
It is traditional for the president to meet with both government and opposition leaders during state visits, and Bush was criticized for leaving Netanyahu off his original agenda.
