Women in Green leader Nadia Matar spoke to Arutz Sheva on Tuesday night during a protest in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Har Homa. Approximately 3,000 activists took part in the protest, after which activists traveled to 10 sites in Judea and Samaria with building materials and began working to build two new Jewish communities and strengthen eight others.
When asked about the low turnout in comparison to other protests, Matar said, “I personally do not pay attention to the numbers. We saw that 250,000 people protested against the expulsion [from Gush Katif—ed.].” Since then, Matar said, “We’ve gone into a new phase, now we need to show determination... the days when we counted the number of people in a demonstration are over.”
Matar said that many young activists lost their trust in established organizations following the 2005 “Disengagement.” A new leadership is growing “on the ground,” she said, apart from the known leaders and organizations.
