Haaretz newspaper has awarded a prize to Yaniv Itzkovich, who led a movement of IDF soldiers refusing to fight against Arab terrorism in Judea and Samaria following the outbreak of the Oslo War.

The Haaretz Book Prize is 50,000 shekels.

Itzkovich authored the 2002 "Combatants' Letter," signed by 800 reservists who said they would refuse to engage in counter-terror operations because they considered them a "War For the Settlements."
