Road 65 and Road 85 between the Golani and Amiad Junctions in the Galilee will be widened into six-lane highways, according to a decision by the National Infrastructures Committee.

The junction between the two roads will be transformed into an interchange, called the Nachal Amud Interchange.

The existing stretch of road between the Golani and Amiad Junctions is an undivided single-lane road, despite the fact that the route is a major traffic artery. The road has been the site of many accidents due to passing.
