A senior Kadima Party official said the party could replace Ehud Olmert as prime minister if the Winograd Report recommends removing the prime minister from office, the Ynetnews website reported.
The Winograd Commission was appointed following the 2006 Second Lebanon War to investigate breakdowns at the political and military levels during the war. Advance versions of the report have been critical of elected and IDF officials and led to the resignation of former IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz and the removal of former Labor Party Chairman Amir Peretz as defense minister.
The final report is due to be released on January 30.
