(IsraelNN.com) MK Michael Eitan (Likud) spent his first Shabbat in Sderot this weekend after moving to the city last Wednesday.  Eitan explained that he decided to move to Sderot “in order to give real meaning to the phrase ‘The people is with Sderot.’”  Eitan will remain in Jerusalem during the week in order to remain near the Knesset, but has committed to living in his new apartment in Sderot over the weekends.

Eitan said residents of the city had greeted him warmly, and that his new neighbors had brought him a traditional Shabbat meal of hot cholent.  He said he would not run to a shelter in case of a rocket attack, explaining that his building has no shelter, and that he believes that statistically speaking, it would not be worth the effort to run for shelter even if he had one.
