Israeli Diamond Export Reaches Record High

(IsraelNN.com) Israel's export of polished diamonds reached a record $12 billion in 2007, according to Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor controller of diamonds Shmuel Mordechai. 

The United States continues to be the primary market for Israeli diamonds, accounting for 53 percent of exports.  Hong Kong accounts for 19 percent, Belgium 8 percent, Switzerland 5 percent and India 2 percent.
