Dr. Ran Hassin of the Hebrew University has conducted a study showing that Israelis who are shown subliminal images of the Israeli flag tend to "moderate" their political views, according to a report in the Minnesota-based Star Tribune.

The research examined left and right wing citizens in regard to the expulsion from Gaza and other issues of the Israeli-Arab conflict.  Those who were exposed to subliminal images of the Israeli flag expressed increased support for more central parties.

The results of the study will be published in the US journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
