Meretz Knesset Member Zehava Gal-On announced her run for leadership of the party on Sunday by sending an animated film to all Meretz party members entitled "Public Apology."

The film includes a character modeled after Gal-On that apologizes for telling people "what they need to hear instead of want they want to hear," a statement made famous by founding father David Ben Gurion.  Gal-On's headquarters stated her campaign will reflect the party's trend toward a more provocative, rather than "apologetic" approach to politics.
