(IsraelNN.com) UNIFIL commander Maj.-Gen. Claudio Graziano (Italy) said he believes his forces have been able to prevent heavy weaponry from entering southern Lebanon.  UNIFIL soldiers have beefed up security on bridges and other passageways over the Litani River in order to stop the terror organization from moving its weapons south. Hizbullah has already installed short-range and medium-range missile launching units north of the Litani.

IDF officials had high praise for the European units of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), saying the Spanish, Italian and French soldiers have worked hard to make life difficult for Hizbullah terrorists who are intent on returning to the south. "They do their job….and they have had quite a few successes," said a senior government official quoted by Ha'aretz.

Israel is concerned, however, over the continuing instability in the country, which has been without a president since November.
