(IsraelNN.com) The Russian military denied Friday that it planned to sell advanced S-300 anti-air defenses to Iran. "The matter of transferring an S-300 system to Iran, which has been raised in the media, does not exist at this moment, is not being considered and is not being discussed at this time with the Iranian side," an official Russian military statement read.

Iran announced Wednesday that Russia will supply it with the state-of-the-art missiles, which can intercept targets at an altitude of up to 27 km. and at a distance of 150 km. from the launch point. They are effective against cruise missiles and ballistic warheads as well as planes and would make it much more difficult to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.
