    IDF Court Criticizes State Prosecution

An IDF court has issued a verdict supporting Jewish residents of Peace House in Hevron and criticizing state prosecutors.  The prosecutors admit that the house was purchased legally, the court said, but wish to prevent the owner from using the property he purchased “with no compensation or alternative option.”

The court rejected an order signed in January by Attorney General Menachem Mazuz and IDF officials, saying the order interfered with private purchase.  “It is doubtful that [the order] has a precedent, and there is no comparable order in other legal systems,” the court ruled.
