The National Labor Court will hold a session on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the problem of cities that withhold salaries from the religious council and local council workers. Several hundred employees have not received their pay for over a month, with some waiting as long as four months.
In addition, pensioners in 20 local religious councils have not received their monthly stipends. Workers in Lod and Bat Yam have begun sanctions, and say that if they are not paid soon they will take more drastic action.
