(IsraelNN.com) Around 60 Fatah loyalists who were jailed by Egypt after crossing the Gaza border in the wake of Hamas's June takeover staged a prison break Tuesday from the Egyptian town of Rafah.  Egyptian police recaptured 40 of the escapees. Of the 130 Fatah members who made a run for Egypt during clashes with Hamas in June, 23 were offered residency permits and moved to Cairo.

Earlier Tuesday, Hamas released the former director of Gaza's electric company, whom the terror group charged with embezzlement, six months after arresting him in an attack on political rivals in June.  In exchange for his release, the electric company head paid $100,000 and forfeited two acres of land.
