(IsraelNN.com) Quartet envoy Tony Blair has converted to Roman Catholicism, his spokesman announced Saturday.  Blair identified as an Anglican while serving as Prime Minister of England, but some speculated that he would convert after leaving office.  Blair was known to attend Catholic services with his family.

Blair has been involved in several issues facing Israel and the Palestinian Authority in recent months.  He has put an emphasis on strengthening the PA economy, and has called for foreign businesses to invest in the area.
