US President George W. Bush signed into law Wednesday a bill that would provide funds for joint American-Israeli "green" research projects focusing on developing alternative sources of energy.

The legislation did not set a specific ceiling for the 2009 grants budget, but did tighten regulations on fuel efficiency in cars.
