Christian and liberal Jewish religious and other organizations have joined together in a coalition that pledged $15 million per year in funding to the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) over the next three years.
In an announcement made by Jewish Agency chairman Ze'ev Bielski on Wednesday, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, will donate the funds through Keren Hayesod (the United Israel Appeal) and be allowed to appoint a member to the JAFI Budget and Finance Committee. The fellowship's president, Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, will become a member of the JAFI executive board, according to a memorandum of understanding.
