Some of the top American Jewish leadership organizations are attempting to rally other groups behind a concerted effort to undo the damage of the National Intelligence report on Iran. The heads of the Council of Presidents, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs and additional groups addressed a letter this week to all of the Jewish organizations in the U.S.A., asking them to form a wide coalition against Iran.

Such a coalition "is more essential than ever today," the leading groups wrote, despite the difficulties in its creation. The new, wide coalition is to make a concerted effort to increase support for sanctions against Iran and other measures intended to stymie Iran's nuclear ambitions.

The organizations are asked to recruit non-Jewish spokespersons for the purpose as well, in order to make the message "more neutral" in character.
