    Senate Approves Billions for Wars in Iraq, Afghanistan

    The US Senate late Tuesday passed a government spending bill including authorization for billions of dollars allocated to bolster President George W. Bush's anti-terror war in Iraq.

    Approximately $555 billion was allocated to various projects, with $40 billion earmarked for the war in Iraq and $30 billion going to US troops in Afghanistan.

    The bill passed 76-17 in the Senate.
