Chabad 'Mitzvah Mobile' Makes Moscow Debut

The automobile, a large recreational vehicle adorned with Jewish symbols, began serving the Jews of Moscow during Chanukah.  The vehicle is equipped to expose secular Jews to Judaism, providing them with ritual items, such as Shabbat candles, and enabling Jewish men to don tefillin.

According to Rabbi Shmuel Kuperman who manned the vehicle on its maiden voyage, the response from residents of Moscow has been overwhelmingly positive, with dozens of people entering the vehicle to partake in Jewish practice with the assistance of Chabad-Lubavitch.

'Mitzvah Mobiles' have been utilized by Chabad to assist Jews in observing Jewish rituals and connecting to their Jewish roots since 1974, debuting in large American cities with the approval of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
