PLO State Conference To Demand Checkpoint Closures

The Conference of Donors for a Palestinian State taking place in Paris on Monday is expected to issue a statement telling Israel to remove security checkpoints in Judea and Samaria meant to protect Israeli citizens against terror attacks.

PLO leaders have incited the international community against Israel regarding the security barriers prior to the conference, also criticizing continued Jewish building in Jerusalem and limited travel for Arabs through Gaza borders.

The conference is expected to raise 5.6 billion dollars for a PLO state, with the US pledging 550 million dollars, Japan 120 million dollars, Britain approximately 500 million dollars, Germany 300 million dollars, and the EU 650 million.  The PA has received donations totaling about $10 billion from the international community since 1993.
