(IsraelNN.com) A United States court in Florida sentenced 81-year-old Marc Benayer to life in prison on Thursday for the murder of Jonathon Samuels.  Benayer shot Samuels during prayers at the Chabad synagogue in Boca Raton on the holiday of Rosh Hashanah.  After shooting Samuels, Benayer fired one random shot into the synagogue.

Benayer decided to kill Samuels after Samuels and a business partner assisted Benayer’s ex-girlfriend in seeking a restraining order against him.  Benayer, who suffers from dementia but was found competent to stand trial, argued that the shooting was an accident.
