Police Accused of Bombing Released to House Arrest

Three police detectives, one officer, and a civilian accused of attempting to bomb a house and car belonging to criminal leader Michael Mor have been released to house arrest.  Lawyers representing the five will announce Wednesday whether or not their clients have decided to accept the conditions of house arrest; if they have, they will be released until their trial is over.

The five will be required to remain in their homes unless granted permission to leave to meet with their lawyers.  If they leave, they must be accompanied by a court chaperone.

The five allegedly planted bombs near Mor’s car and next to a house owned by Mor in revenge after Mor allegedly masterminded a grenade attack on an officer’s home.  The bomb on Mor’s car was disarmed, while the other went off without causing injury.  The officers have argued that they did not intend to cause injury, and only wanted to frighten Mor.
