According to Gaza reporters, members of Hamas confiscated millions of dollars worth of drugs over the past several days, and burned the entire stash on Sunday evening.  The confiscated drugs included hashish, heroin, cocaine, and ecstasy, most of which were smuggled into Gaza via tunnels along the Egyptian border.  Police said that much of the marijuana was grown locally.

Hamas officials said they had also caught 115 drug dealers.  The 115 will face life imprisonment or death under Hamas law, they said.  The group blamed Fatah for the phenomenon of drug smuggling, while Fatah officials in Judea and Samaria blamed Hamas, saying the group controls the tunnels into Egypt and therefore controls the drug trade.
