    Ki-Moon: Jerusalem Construction 'Unhelpful'

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon said that Israel's decision to construct 300 new apartments in eastern Jerusalem was "unhelpful." He said he would bring the matter up with the "Quartet" on Middle East affairs, which is composed of the U.N., U.S., European Union and Russia.

Jordan, too, criticized the decision and said Israel is not honoring its commitment to peace and is continuing its settlement policy. Jordan's Minister of Information Nasser Juda said Israel was breaking international law and disobeying U.N. decisions.
