Government and teachers' union officials broke off talks Wednesday night and were not able to agree when to meet again to try to end the lingering strike of the country's high schools.

The Labor Court this week issued a back-to-work order after the Chanukah vacation, but the teachers are appealing to the High Court to cancel the ruling, based on charges that the government gave the court misleading information.
