Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar was quoted Tuesday in an interview with the London-based Al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper denying the terrorist organization intends to wrest control over Judea and Samaria from Fatah head and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

"Hamas does not want to conquer the West Bank," said Zahar, formerly the PA Foreign Minister, adding that Hamas was already in control of the region due to its having won elections to the Palestinian Legislative Council in early 2006.
