Labor Party Chairman Ehud Barak made a broad hint Friday that he intends to stay in the government even after the publication of the Winograd report. "I will not leave the government just because a few comrades get worked up over it," he told Labor's faction meeting.
"I will leave when I think that we have a chance to win," he said. "I intend to decide if and when we are leaving the government," he added.
Barak sounded a cautionary note following the Annapolis conference: "If there is no peace in 2008, it is not because of us," he said. "There is a silent majority that wants peace. However, the public is sober. The problem is not in our side. I am the head of the peace camp but I am also responsible for security."
