The price of crude oil dropped to $93.98 per barrel on Wednesday.  The drop came after Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) officials said they were ready to put more oil on the market.  Officials did not say when they planned to release additional oil.

A rise in oil prices in recent months has led to an increase in the price of several basic goods.  In Israel the increase in prices has been offset by the weakness of the United States dollar, and inflation has remained low.
