Palestinian Authority businesswomen received a vote of confidence and support Sunday from Cherie Blair, the wife of former British Prime Minister and current Quartet Middle East envoy Tony Blair.

"I think we can do a lot for the Palestinian economy by empowering women," said Blair, who spoke to a crowd of more than 100 PA businesswomen.

Blair is a prominent human rights lawyer in the U.K..
