(IsraelNN.com) The Arab League, which is convened in Cairo, demanded that the United States discuss the Golan Heights in the Annapolis summit, if it wants Syria to participate. The Arab foreign ministers demand that the Golan be included on the summit's agenda "in a clear and explicit way," an Arab diplomatic source in Cairo said Friday.

The diplomat told the French news agency that "the League's foreign ministers sent an urgent message to the US demanding that the Golan Heights be included in the convention's agenda in order to enable Syria to take part in the discussions."

Asked whether the U.S. had responded to the demand, Syrian Foreign Minister  Walid Mualem said "we are waiting."
