Both Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Defense Minister Ehud Barak have told close aides that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is "doing the wrong thing" by going to the Annapolis conference, Likud Knesset Member Yuval Shteinitz alleged Thursday morning. The Foreign and Defense Ministers have not commented on the charge.
In an interview with Voice of Israel government radio, MK Shteinitz also rejected the claim that Hamas and not Fatah terrorists are firing rockets on Sderot; "What difference does it make?" he asked. "Mahmoud Abbas said he is responsible for security of all of the Palestinian Authority (PA). It does not make any difference who is firing on us. Prime Minister Olmert is making a terrible mistake by going to Annapolis."
