Eldad Considers Joining ‘Hatikvah’

(IsraelNN.com) MK Aryeh Eldad (NU/NRP) said Monday that he would probably run with the new Hatikvah party in the next national elections.  Hatikvah targets secular nationalists, and recently made its presence felt by setting up a protest tent across from the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.

Speaking from the protest tent, Eldad said “It would have been better if we could have united the Right, but we did not succeed in uniting the right today.”  As the nationalist camp is not united, he said, Hatikvah fills the gap left by the NU/NRP, which many secular voters consider too religious, and by Likud, which nationalists consider too centrist.
